Groups, programs and activities not supported
The Cardinal Health Foundation does not make grants to:
- Organizations without IRS 501(c)(3) or equivalent tax-exempt status
- Local non-profit organizations that are not located in Albuquerque, New Mexico; central Ohio; northern Illinois; Radcliff, Kentucky; San Diego, California; or Little Rock, Arkansas.
This pertains only to the Building Healthy Communities Grant Program.
The Cardinal Health Patient Safety Grant Program is nationwide.
The Cardinal Health Foundation also does not support:
- Endowments
- Religious organizations or sectarian programs for religious purposes
- Veteran, labor or political organizations or campaigns
- Member-based organizations, including chambers of commerce, rotary clubs or IRS 501(c)(4) legions and associations
- Fraternal, athletic or social clubs
- Municipalities, including fire and police departments
- Requests for loans or debt retirements
- Individual endeavors or needs
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, disability, religion, ethnic origin, gender or sexual orientation
- Organizations with divisive or litigious public agendas
- Capital campaign requests for health systems, hospitals and clinics
- General operating support
- Sports teams or athletic competitions
- Event sponsorships
- Advertising
- Organizations classified as IRS 509(a)(3) supporting organizations
